Hyderabad, Sept. 3: Anti Corruption Bureau officials conducted a raid at the residence of Suryapet Municipality Town Planning Officer V. Somaiah on Thursday.
The raid followed allegations of disproportionate assets against the official. ACB officials reportedly seized several key documents from his residence
Officials are examining details of his bank accounts and assets as part of the inquiry. Further details are yet to emerge.
ACB Examines Somaiah’s Assets and Official Record
Somaiah previously worked as a Town Planning Officer in Miryalaguda. He later resigned and joined the Suryapet Municipality as Town Planning Officer on full additional charge.
He is currently handling responsibilities as TPO of both Suryapet and Kodad. He has faced allegations of keeping files pending for long periods wherever he worked.
There are also allegations that some online files remained pending for months and were cleared only after alleged monetary payments. These allegations have not yet been established.
Somaiah reportedly owns houses and plots in Hyderabad and Suryapet. He has also been accused of constructing an ashram at Edlapalli and collecting donations.
The ACB is examining the allegations and seized documents. Further details are expected after the completion of the searches.
