Hyderabad, Sept. 5: Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) Police arrested three people, including two juveniles, within two days of a cab driver being allegedly robbed at knifepoint near Shamshabad.
Police recovered the driver’s two mobile phones, Rs 180 in cash, the stolen cab and the knife allegedly used in the robbery.
The accused were identified as Faizullah of Jalpally and two juveniles. Police reportedly apprehended them from the ORR service road in Shamshabad on Thursday night. They were remanded to judicial custody on Friday, September 4.
According to police, the incident occurred around 2:30 am on Wednesday when cab driver Sabhavath Rajender Kumar, 32, a resident of Airport Colony, accepted a booking from Shamshabad to Aramgarh.
Kumar picked up two passengers near Rajiv Gruhakalpa on the ORR service road. The journey reportedly turned violent after the vehicle reached the NH-44 service road.

Police said the passengers allegedly pulled the handbrake and stopped the car. One of them reportedly held a knife to Kumar’s throat and threatened him.
Meanwhile, a third accomplice, who allegedly followed the cab on a motorcycle, pulled Kumar out of the vehicle.
The suspects then allegedly fled with the cab, two mobile phones and Rs 180 in cash.
RGIA Police registered a case under Section 309(4) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), which deals with robbery, and launched an investigation.
“We arrested three accused, including Faizullah of Jalpally and two juveniles, from the ORR service road in Shamshabad on Thursday night. The entire stolen property was recovered along with the knife used in the offence,” RGIA Detective Inspector G Pavan Kumar was quoted as saying.
The accused were subsequently remanded to judicial custody, while further investigation into the robbery is underway.
