TG SAFE Raids Paneer Units, Finds Hygiene And Adulteration Violations

Hyderabad, Sept. 6: Telangana Standards Authority for Food and Essential Drugs (TG SAFE) officials inspected 14 dairy units amid concerns over paneer quality and food safety.

Twelve special teams conducted inspections across Hyderabad and surrounding districts as part of public health measures.

Officials found hygiene violations, unauthorised ingredients and inadequate records related to milk procurement at several units.

Inspection teams also found loose palm oil and glycerol monostearate in some paneer manufacturing units.

TG SAFE Collects 21 Samples for Quality Testing

Officials reported cockroach and fly infestations at some premises. Several units also failed to meet required hygiene and sanitation standards.

The teams collected 21 samples on suspicion of adulteration and sent them to laboratories for testing.

Food products valued at around Rs 7.19 lakh were seized during the inspections.

TG SAFE will issue improvement notices to Shri Mahalaxmi Kendra in Khanapur and Anita Dairy in Hayathnagar.

Officials also issued show cause notices to Geeta Dairy and Normal, identified as Mother Dairy, in Nadergul.

Further action will be taken based on inspection findings and laboratory test results.
