Hyderabad, Sept. 6: BRS leaders challenged the Congress government to dissolve the Telangana Assembly and face mid term elections. They rejected demands for former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao to resign.
The BRS also questioned the Congress government’s achievements during its 1,000 days in office. The party demanded that Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy apologise and resign over alleged unfulfilled promises.
BRS Questions Congress Over Telangana Promises
Speaking to mediapersons at Telangana Bhavan on Sunday, former MLA Ravindra Kumar criticised the Chief Minister’s speech at Nakrekal.
Kumar alleged that the speech offered no major announcements for the erstwhile Nalgonda district. He also claimed that the meeting mainly targeted BRS leaders.
He rejected demands for Chandrashekhar Rao’s resignation. Instead, he challenged the Congress government to resign and seek a fresh mandate from voters.
“Let the people decide who deserves how many marks,” Kumar said. He accused the Congress of misusing its electoral mandate.
Former MLA Chirumarthi Lingaiah alleged that the Chief Minister’s speech focused on criticism of BRS leaders. He questioned the government over Rythu Bima, Rythu Bandhu and fee reimbursement.
Lingaiah also alleged that development projects in Nalgonda were being neglected. He challenged Revanth Reddy to debate the Congress government’s pending promises in Kodangal.
Former MLA K. Prabhakar Reddy alleged that the Chief Minister was targeting the BRS leadership to please his Andhra Pradesh mentors. He claimed Telangana had not received adequate water or funds under the present government.
Reddy also criticised Irrigation Minister N. Uttam Kumar Reddy over delayed water release in Nalgonda district. He warned of protests if water was not released from Dindi.
