TG REDCO Invites Bids For 369 Public EV Charging Stations

Hyderabad, Sept. 6: Telangana Renewable Energy Development Corporation (TG REDCO) has invited bids to establish 369 public EV charging stations across the State.

Private Charge Point Operators will handle the establishment, operation, maintenance, upgradation and commercial management of the stations.

Telangana ranks fourth in the country in electricity consumption by EV charging stations. The government plans to expand charging infrastructure as electric vehicle use continues to grow.

TG REDCO Plans 369 EV Charging Stations

TG REDCO Vice Chairman and Managing Director Musharraf Faruqui said several national highways and transport corridors pass through Telangana.

He said inter State travel, freight movement, urbanisation and changing lifestyles are increasing demand for electric vehicles.

In Hyderabad, TG REDCO will establish 200 public EV charging stations across Greater Hyderabad, Cyberabad and Malkajgiri areas.

The project will cover six clusters. Selected operators will manage the stations and handle their maintenance and commercial operations.

Under the TGNPDCL jurisdiction, another 169 charging stations will come up at 16 locations. They will cover the erstwhile districts of Warangal, Khammam, Karimnagar, Nizamabad and Adilabad.

Selected operators will handle surveys, design, supply, civil works, installation, testing and commissioning. They will also operate and maintain the stations for 10 years.

Eligible bidders can receive subsidies under the PM E DRIVE scheme, subject to applicable conditions.

The consumer charging tariff has been fixed at Rs 13 per unit plus GST. The tariff will remain unchanged during the contract period.

For Hyderabad, the project requires a minimum 95 per cent charger uptime.

The pre bid meeting for the 169 station project will be held on September 7 at 11.30 am. The meeting for the 200 station project will take place at 11 am the same day.

Bid submissions will begin on September 8 and close on September 22. Bidders must submit tenders through the Telangana e Procurement Portal.
