Minority Study Circles | Hyderabad, Sept. 7 (Maxim News): Telangana Legislative Council member Mirza Riyaz ul Hasan Effendi from AIMIM party urged the government to expand Minority Study Circles and Career Counselling Centres across the state.
Effendi raised the issue during Question Hour in the Legislative Council on Monday.
He said wider access would help more minority students benefit from academic and career support.
Effendi particularly stressed the need to support women students. He said expanding the centres to more districts would give students access to guidance closer to their homes.
Effendi also sought early approval for a new building for the existing centre. He called for better facilities to improve its functioning and support more students.
The AIMIM MLC Riyaz said stronger career counselling could help students make informed choices about higher education and employment.
He also highlighted the need to expand opportunities beyond the existing locations.
Minority Study Circles | Azharuddin assures action on minority education support
Responding to the issue, Telangana Minister Mohammed Azharuddin assured the Council that the suggestions would receive serious consideration.
Azhar said the government aims to establish more Minority Study Circles across Telangana. The expansion would help extend educational and career support to students in additional districts.
The minister’s assurance came after the MLC sought wider access and improved facilities. The government is expected to consider the infrastructure requirements of existing centres as part of the expansion.
Minority Study Circles can provide students with academic guidance and preparation support.
Career counselling centres can also help students understand educational pathways and employment opportunities.
Expanding such facilities could reduce the need for students from districts outside Hyderabad to travel long distances for guidance. It could also make support more accessible to women and other students who face mobility constraints.
The discussion highlighted the importance of combining academic preparation with career guidance. It also placed infrastructure and geographical access among the key concerns for minority education support.
