Hyderabad, Sept. 7 (Maxim News): Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy alleged that a conspiracy was underway to delete one crore votes in the state.
He urged people to remain alert and protect their voting rights during the ongoing Special Intensive Revision process.
Speaking at a memorial meeting for farmer leader Sarampalli Mallareddy at Ravindra Bharathi on Monday, Revanth made several allegations against the BJP.
He alleged that the BJP had engaged special agencies to identify its political opponents. He claimed they had studied voting patterns since 2009 to identify and remove votes of BJP opponents.
Revanth also alleged that the Special Intensive Revision had become a new tool in what he described as a wider political strategy.
He said political forces across the country were preparing to oppose Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s policies. He alleged that the BJP had launched new measures after recognising this growing opposition.
The Chief Minister also criticised the BRS for remaining silent over the alleged deletion of one crore votes in Telangana.
Telangana Voter Deletion: Revanth flags alleged voter deletions in Kodangal
Revanth alleged that thousands of votes belonging to poor people who migrated from his Kodangal constituency were being removed.
He claimed that 81,000 votes from Kodangal had been included in an anomalies list. He urged voters to verify their details and remain vigilant.
Revanth said the votes that exist today could help lay the foundation for defeating Modi in the 2029 elections.
He also linked the voter revision issue to the political representation of poor and tribal communities. He said people should not assume that BJP opposed votes refer only to minority voters.
According to Revanth, poor and tribal voters could also face the risk of losing their names from electoral rolls.
He called for collective action by secular political forces against the BJP at the national level. He described such cooperation as a historical necessity.
Revanth also referred to the role of Left parties in Telangana’s political movement. He said communist groups had raised issues concerning workers and poor people under the previous government.
He said those struggles helped create the political environment that led to the formation of the Congress government in December 2023.
The Chief Minister said the communist parties contributed to that outcome directly or indirectly. He added that this contribution remained relevant whether the parties contested elections together or separately.
Revanth also praised Sarampalli Mallareddy for his contribution to farmers. He described his death as a major loss to the farming community.
He said Telangana was gradually losing leaders with a deep understanding of agricultural issues. Such leaders, he added, could advise governments on practical solutions for farmers.
Revanth said few leaders in Telangana could match Mallareddy’s understanding of farmers’ problems. He particularly recalled his work on tenant farmers and remunerative prices.
He also praised Mallareddy’s ability to raise public issues with knowledge and social awareness.
The Chief Minister said communist movements had also influenced the Congress to introduce several laws concerning workers and farmers.
He said Mallareddy’s contribution should therefore be remembered as part of the wider struggle for farmers’ rights.
Revanth’s remarks come amid continuing political debate over electoral roll revisions in Telangana. The allegations regarding voter deletions remain political claims and require verification through official electoral records and the final revision process. (Maxim News)
