Hyderabad, Sept. 7: Ranveer Allahbadia said true influence begins with what people do after they listen to a creator.
The podcaster and entrepreneur shared the view at a special session hosted by FLO Hyderabad at ITC Kakatiya on Monday.
Allahbadia spoke at “Beyond the Algorithm: Building Influence in the Digital Age.” More than 400 FLO members, entrepreneurs and professionals attended the session.
He said businesses should measure influence through impact rather than followers, views or reach. According to him, influence can change perspectives, inspire action and build confidence.
Allahbadia also urged businesses to rethink their digital marketing strategies. He suggested that companies create youth led digital marketing teams.
He said people below 25 from Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities can offer fresh ideas. Their daily use of digital platforms can help businesses understand new trends and online behaviour.
Moreover, he said digital algorithms change rapidly and create new challenges for marketers. Therefore, businesses need younger voices that can respond quickly to these changes.
Allahbadia also identified WhatsApp marketing as a growing opportunity. He said audiences increasingly seek direct and personal digital communication.
He explained the role of major platforms in simple terms. X drives conversations, while LinkedIn supports business connections. Instagram creates visual influence, and Facebook helps build communities. YouTube, meanwhile, helps creators establish authority through storytelling.
On podcasting, Allahbadia said the sector has become crowded. He also noted some decline in podcasting. However, he said talk shows and long form conversations still have relevance.
He advised new podcasters to start with short form content. They can then move towards longer conversations after building an audience.
Ranveer Allahbadia Highlights Technology, Trust and Hyderabad
Allahbadia also spoke about the challenges of political podcasting. He described the space as difficult because of its sensitivities.
He recalled learning important lessons after interviewing Priyanka Chopra. He also said he wants his work to create jobs and spread positive values.

Looking ahead, Allahbadia identified quantum computing as a technology with major future potential. He said it could greatly expand computing capabilities and reshape the technology landscape.
The session also turned to his connection with Hyderabad. Allahbadia said he had tried Hyderabadi biryani in Mumbai. He expressed interest in trying the authentic version during his next visit to Hyderabad.
He also invited people from Telangana to share suggestions through social media and direct messages. He said he wants to explore more places across the state based on audience recommendations.
The discussion also examined the difference between visibility and influence. Digital platforms have changed how people build public profiles and reach audiences.
Today, creators can reach large audiences with a phone and a strong idea. However, a large audience does not automatically create trust or credibility.
FLO Hyderabad Chairperson Seetha Reddy said digital influence now plays an important role in leadership. She said visibility alone cannot guarantee credibility or lasting relevance.
Reddy said the issue holds particular importance for women. More women now work as entrepreneurs, founders, professionals, spokespersons, creators and thought leaders.
She said effective communication can help women shape conversations and establish credibility. She added that modern leadership increasingly depends on these skills.
The FLO Hyderabad session therefore linked digital influence with entrepreneurship, personal branding and leadership. It encouraged participants to focus beyond online visibility.
The discussion placed trust, credibility and lasting impact at the centre of digital influence. It also highlighted the need for businesses to understand changing platforms and audience behaviour. (Maxim News)
