Hyderabad, Sept. 10: Telangana Health Minister Damodar Rajanarsimha said the government aims to provide better medical services to employees and pensioners.
He said the new Employee Health Scheme (EHS) has been operational since July 17.
Rajanarsimha said more than 17 lakh people are covered under the scheme.

The minister said eligible beneficiaries will receive digital health cards.
He said beneficiaries can also download their health cards using an OTP.
Rajanarsimha was responding to questions from Legislative Council members on Thursday.
He said the government allocated Rs 1,056 crore for EHS this year. The monthly allocation stands at Rs 88 crore.
Employees and pensioners will contribute 1.5 percent under the scheme. The government will contribute an equal amount.
Rajanarsimha said inpatient services are available at 921 hospitals. These include 114 government and 807 private hospitals.
The government is also setting up 37 wellness centres across Telangana. Twelve centres are already operational in 12 districts.
Another 25 wellness centres are planned across the state.
The minister said the government has so far pre-authorised Rs 55.14 crore for 8,511 medical cases.
