Hyderabad, Sept. 12: Medipally Police booked a youth for allegedly threatening a private employee through Instagram and demanding Rs 5 lakh or sexual favours.
The suspect allegedly used the name “Rider Reddy” while contacting the woman on Instagram.
He allegedly claimed that her photos were available on a dating app. He then demanded Rs 5 lakh to remove them.
Instagram Threat Case Under Police Investigation
The youth also allegedly pressured the woman to fulfil his sexual demands.
Unable to bear the alleged harassment, the woman approached Medipally Police and lodged a complaint.
Police subsequently registered a case and began an investigation to identify the suspect and verify the allegations.
The suspect has not yet been publicly identified.
