Hyderabad, Sept. 12: Telangana Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy said the government will present alleged land irregularities during the KCR regime before the Assembly.
He made the remarks during a short discussion on Section 22A land issues in the Assembly on Saturday.
Ponguleti alleged that the previous BRS government targeted lands meant for poor people and planned to take control of them.
He also alleged that Dharani was introduced as part of this plan without adequate public consultation.
Ponguleti Raises Questions Over Dharani and Land Records
Ponguleti alleged that key decisions on Dharani were taken without consulting the public.
He said the system created difficulties for poor people dealing with land records and rights.
The minister also alleged that the previous government awarded the Dharani management contract to a preferred company.
He further claimed that Telangana lands were pledged to foreign companies and later transferred to another company.
Ponguleti said the government would place details of alleged land irregularities before the Assembly one by one.
He also criticised BRS leaders for leaving the House amid the discussion.
The minister alleged that major irregularities occurred in the Revenue Department during the previous government.
He said the government has a responsibility to explain the alleged irregularities to the people of Telangana.
Ponguleti stressed the need for transparency in land records and property rights.
He said technology should modernise land records while protecting the rights of small farmers and ordinary citizens.
He added that accountability in land administration was essential because land disputes can affect families for generations.
