Ponguleti Questions KCR Land Holdings Over 2004 Affidavit

Hyderabad, Sept. 17: Telangana Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy questioned KCR’s land holdings by referring to his 2004 election affidavit.

Ponguleti raised the issue after BRS working president K T Rama Rao claimed that KCR’s family had owned hundreds of acres for generations.

Ponguleti said KCR’s 2004 Karimnagar Lok Sabha election affidavit declared no agricultural or non agricultural land in his name. The archived affidavit records nil land holdings in both categories.

The minister questioned how KCR’s reported land holdings and assets grew after the 2004 disclosure.

Ponguleti Questions KCR Affidavit and Land Claims

Ponguleti asked whether KCR had made an error in his election affidavit or whether the recent claims about ancestral land holdings were inaccurate.

He also alleged that the KCR family accumulated large assets during the Telangana movement and the subsequent BRS government.

Ponguleti alleged that Telangana activists were left with debts while the assets of the KCR family increased.

He further accused the previous government of irregularities involving government, assigned and Dalit lands. These remain allegations and have not been established by a court.

The remarks came amid a wider political dispute over land surrounding KCR’s farmhouse at Erravelli.

Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has ordered a fact finding exercise into the land parcels around the farmhouse. Officials have been asked to determine the extent and status of government land in the area.

KTR has separately challenged Revanth Reddy to agree to a judicial inquiry into the assets of both families.

The latest exchange has intensified the political dispute between the Congress and BRS over land records and asset disclosures.
