Hyderabad, Sept. 22: A 23 year old woman from Andhra Pradesh was found dead with severe injuries at a hotel in Madhapur on Tuesday.
Police identified the woman as Sharon Nikhita Topno, a native of Visakhapatnam.
Her boyfriend, Srinivasa Ravi Teja, allegedly left the hospital after doctors declared her dead and remains untraceable.
The couple had reportedly arrived in Hyderabad and checked into a hotel on Road No. 5 in Siddiq Nagar on Monday afternoon.
Police Probe Andhra Woman’s Death in Madhapur
According to preliminary information, Nikhita required emergency medical attention on Tuesday morning.
Ravi Teja and hotel staff took her to a private hospital in Kondapur.
Doctors examined her and declared her dead, police said.
Madhapur police reached the hospital after receiving information about the death.
Police noticed severe injuries and swelling on Nikhita’s face and head.
Officials later inspected the hotel room where the couple had stayed.
Police reportedly found bloodstains on the walls and bedsheet. A clues team was called to the hotel to collect forensic evidence.
Police shifted Nikhita’s body to Osmania General Hospital for an autopsy. Meanwhile, police are searching for Ravi Teja and questioning people connected with the case.
Investigators are examining CCTV footage, forensic evidence and other available information.
The evidence will help police establish what happened inside the hotel and determine the exact cause and sequence of Nikhita’s death.
Madhapur police have registered a case and launched an investigation.
