Hyderabad SI death | Hyderabad, Sept. 24: Kothagudem Two-Town Sub-Inspector (SI) K. Venkanna, 55, died after an unidentified motorcycle allegedly hit him near Crane No. 2 on Tank Bund Road in Hyderabad while he was deployed for Ganesh idol immersion duty. The motorcyclist fled the spot following the collision.
According to police, Venkanna was performing duty near Crane No. 2 on NTR Marg when the motorcycle struck him. He lost his balance and fell on the road.
He said Congress was not presenting those developments as proof that they caused the UPI policy change.
The SI initially believed that he had suffered only minor injuries. He later returned to Warangal, where he developed giddiness and his condition worsened.

Venkanna was shifted to MGM Hospital in Warangal for treatment. He later died while undergoing treatment, according to police.
The incident occurred amid heavy movement of devotees, vehicles and police personnel during the Ganesh immersion arrangements in Hyderabad. Police had deployed personnel at various points along the immersion routes to manage crowds and traffic.
He said Congress was not presenting those developments as proof that they caused the UPI policy change.
Police have registered a case in connection with the hit-and-run and launched an investigation to identify the motorcycle and its rider.
Investigators are examining CCTV footage and other available evidence from the area to trace the unidentified motorcyclist. Further details about the vehicle and rider are awaited.
