Hyderabad, Sept. 27: Telangana Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy accused the BJP of stealing votes and cheating people. He also claimed that the country was waiting for Rahul Gandhi to become Prime Minister.
Uttam Kumar Reddy expressed confidence that Rahul Gandhi would become Prime Minister. He made the remarks while distributing smart ration cards at Nereducherla mandal headquarters in Suryapet district on Sunday.
Collector Tejas Nandalal Pawar and Superintendent of Police Narasimha attended the programme.
Uttam Kumar Reddy Highlights Smart Ration Card Distribution
Uttam Kumar Reddy said the Congress government was providing quality rice to poor families. He alleged that previous governments had supplied poor quality rice, which beneficiaries often sold.
He also said Telangana was providing rice to 90 per cent of the state’s poor population. He claimed that the Congress government was continuing the scheme while the BJP governed several other states.
The minister questioned the previous BRS government for not issuing new ration cards during its tenure. He said the current government had begun distributing new cards to eligible families.
Uttam Kumar Reddy said more than three lakh people in Suryapet district were receiving new ration cards. He added that around 10 lakh people were benefiting from rice distribution in the district.
He further said the government had issued new ration cards to more than one lakh people in the constituency. According to the minister, around three lakh people were benefiting from the initiative.
