The system has a low probability of intensifying into a depression over the southern and adjoining central Bay of Bengal around October 15. However, the forecast remains at an early stage, and its eventual track and intensity are yet to become clear.

Rains Expected in Coastal Andhra

Meanwhile, Andhra Pradesh is expected to receive rain and thunderstorms in several areas. Isolated moderate rainfall accompanied by lightning is likely in Alluri Sitarama Raju and Polavaram districts, while other coastal districts may receive scattered light rain with thunderstorms.

The Andhra Pradesh State Disaster Management Authority has advised people to remain alert during thunderstorms and follow official weather updates.

Moderate rainfall was also reported in parts of Bapatla, NTR, Konaseema, Eluru and Alluri districts. Tirupati and Kadapa recorded maximum temperatures of around 38 degrees Celsius on Thursday.

The developing Bay of Bengal system is being closely monitored. Weather officials have stressed that greater clarity about its movement and possible impact will emerge as the system develops.

The Southwest Monsoon is also continuing its withdrawal from the country. The latest outlook indicates further withdrawal from northern and central parts of India in the coming days.

At present, there is no confirmed forecast of landfall or a cyclone affecting Andhra Pradesh or Telangana from the new system. Any assessment of its impact will depend on its development after October 12.
