Chevella Murder | Hyderabad, Oct 9: A 43-year-old unidentified man was allegedly beaten to death in Chevella, Rangareddy district, after refusing to reveal his mobile phone password The accused allegedly threw his phone into a fire after the murder.
The incident occurred within the limits of Chevella police station and triggered concern among local residents.
According to police, the incident took place around 11.30 pm on Wednesday near the Chevella bus stand. A group of men allegedly snatched the victim’s mobile phone and took him to a shed at a dumping yard in Kandawada ward.
The accused allegedly pressured the man to reveal the password to unlock his phone. When he refused, they reportedly attacked his head repeatedly with sticks.
The victim sustained severe injuries and died at the scene, according to preliminary information.
After the murder, the accused allegedly threw the mobile phone into a fire at the dumping yard to destroy it.

Police said one of the accused surrendered at the police station on Thursday afternoon. He reportedly disclosed details of the incident.
