Hyderabad: Actor Vijay Deverakonda has hit back at online trolls targeting his upcoming film Ranabaali. Speaking at the film’s trailer launch in Hyderabad, he alleged that some social media attacks were coordinated to create negative publicity.
Vijay said everyone has the right to express opinions about films. However, he questioned why similar negative comments appeared repeatedly across multiple social media accounts.
He alleged that certain groups were deliberately spreading negative content about Ranabaali. The actor did not identify the people or groups allegedly involved.
Vijay Responds to Online Criticism
Vijay also addressed social media posts urging audiences to watch Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2 instead of Ranabaali. He suggested that repeated messages could indicate a coordinated campaign.
Responding to criticism of his confidence and personality, Vijay said he would not change himself to satisfy people who viewed his self-belief as arrogance.
He also questioned whether online criticism should force him to abandon his ambitions. The actor urged social media users to promote positive ideas instead of pulling others down.
Vijay further suggested that artificial intelligence could eventually be used to organise similar online campaigns. His remarks have sparked discussion among movie fans.
Ranabaali Set for October 16 Release
Directed by Rahul Sankrityan, Ranabaali stars Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna in the lead roles. Mythri Movie Makers has produced the period action drama.
The film is scheduled to release in theatres on October 16, 2026. This places its release one day after the scheduled release of Jailer 2.
Vijay’s comments have added to the online discussion surrounding the film ahead of its theatrical release.
