Graduates’ MLC Seat | Hyderabad, Oct. 10 (Maxim News): Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka has called on Congress workers to work together to win the Khammam-Nalgonda-Warangal graduates’ MLC seat for party candidate Ramreddy Sarvottam Reddy with a huge majority. He asked them to run the graduates’ voter registration drive like a movement and enrol every eligible graduate. He spoke as chief guest at a district Congress meeting at SR Function Hall in Khammam town.
Bhatti said a huge majority in the graduates’ MLC seat needs a firm plan of action. After the district-level meeting, he said, party units should hold meetings in the five Assembly constituencies, followed by mandal and village-level meetings, to speed up enrolment. He asked the party to appoint a senior leader as in-charge of each constituency, with leaders and workers working in coordination under them.
He said even those registered earlier will have to enrol again under the current process. Party workers should identify graduates in Congress families and ensure they register. They should then meet neutral voters and graduates from other sections who view the government’s welfare schemes positively, and seek their support for the candidate.

Bhatti asked party workers to explain the benefits of the Congress government’s welfare schemes door to door. He gave these figures:

About 27 lakh government school students get breakfast and a glass of milk.
On housing, Bhatti said the first phase of the Indiramma houses scheme covers 4.5 lakh houses, with ₹5 lakh assistance for each. The second phase, he said, is moving towards sanctioning another 2.5 lakh houses, at 2,000 per constituency. He added that one lakh houses for the poor are being built in Hyderabad, and the government is spending ₹40,000 crore on Indiramma houses.
The government is moving to launch the Indiramma Bima scheme on November 19, Indira Gandhi’s birth anniversary. Bhatti said it will give ₹5 lakh insurance support to a family if its main earner dies in an accident. He said the aim is to give security to families in Telangana regardless of caste, religion or region. He also asked party leaders to prepare pamphlets on the schemes and take them to every home.
Bhatti said Sarvottam Reddy’s family has a long association with the Congress, naming leaders such as Ramreddy Venkat Reddy and Damodar Reddy. He said the party will never forget the family. He asked every leader and worker to treat Sarvottam Reddy as the party’s representative, not just a candidate, and to stay alert from voter registration to polling day. He described Khammam district as a strong base for the Congress and asked the party to show the same unity in this election.
