New Delhi, Oct. 15: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has accused the Congress of seeking “regime change” after All India Students’ Association (AISA) president Neha Bora praised Bangladesh’s Gen-Z movement as an inspiration for young people in India. BJP spokesperson Pradeep Bhandari alleged that Rahul Gandhi and the Congress ecosystem were attempting to undermine Indian democracy.
Bora made the remarks at an event on Wednesday, praising Bangladesh’s youth-led movement and linking it to efforts by Indian students to defend democratic principles and voting rights.
She said the movement had shown young people in India a way to stand up for democracy. Her comments drew a sharp response from the BJP, which accused the Opposition of seeking political change beyond democratic resistance.
BJP Targets Congress Over Neha Bora’s Remarks
Bhandari claimed that Bora, whom he described as a prominent face of Rahul Gandhi’s protest movement, had expressed support for replicating developments in Bangladesh in India. He alleged that the Congress’s objective was to damage the Constitution and democratic institutions. These claims were made by the BJP spokesperson and were not independently established in the report.

Bhandari also referred to remarks allegedly made by advocate Prashant Bhushan about a revolution, using them to argue that the Opposition was seeking a change of regime similar to Bangladesh.
Bora has emerged as a prominent figure in protests against the Election Commission of India (ECI) over allegations of “vote theft.” Opposition parties have raised concerns about the electoral process and alleged irregularities in the revision of voter lists.
Rahul Gandhi has led the INDIA bloc’s campaign on the issue. Opposition parties have demanded the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar over alleged irregularities in the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.
Earlier this week, Bora attended a tea meeting hosted by Rahul Gandhi alongside INDIA bloc leaders, activists and civil society members. The gathering focused on coordinating the Opposition’s campaign over the electoral roll revision exercise.
