Hyderabad, Oct. 16: AIMIM chief and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi has criticised Elon Musk over the reported dispute between the Tesla CEO and the Centre concerning Starlink’s commercial operations in India. Owaisi said opposition to Prime Minister Narendra Modi did not mean accepting foreign interference in India’s internal affairs.
Speaking to the media in Hyderabad on Friday, Owaisi said criticism of the government was different from allowing a foreign businessman to question India’s sovereignty. He said the interests of Indian citizens and workers should remain the country’s priority.

Owaisi also questioned the BJP and the Modi government’s response, saying the party often speaks about nationalism. He asked why it remained silent when a foreign businessman challenged India’s decision-making authority.
The AIMIM leader further criticised the United States over its pressure on India to reduce Russian oil imports. He pointed out that the US itself continues to purchase Russian energy products.
Meanwhile, Congress leader and Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi responded differently to Musk’s remarks involving Reliance chairman Mukesh Ambani. Gandhi’s response indirectly referred to industrialist Gautam Adani and triggered further political exchanges.

While Gandhi used the controversy to criticise corporate influence, Owaisi framed the issue around national sovereignty and foreign interference.
