Houthis Attack Yemen | Internet Oct 10: Houthi rebels attacked Yemen’s presidential palace in Aden with missiles on Thursday, killing five people and injuring 16 others, according to Yemeni officials.
The attack targeted the Al-Maashiq presidential palace complex, which serves as the headquarters of Yemen’s internationally recognised government. The casualties included security personnel and civilian employees, Yemen’s Health Minister Qasim Buhaibeh said.
Prime Minister Shaya al-Zindani and several cabinet members were reportedly inside the complex during the attack. However, Yemeni officials confirmed that they escaped unharmed.

Yemen’s Information Minister Moammar al-Eryani said the Houthis targeted the presidential palace with five missiles. Officials reported explosions and smoke around the compound following the strike.
Houthi military spokesperson Yahya Saree said the operation targeted what the group described as a Saudi military operations headquarters in Aden.
The Houthis claimed the attack was part of their policy of targeting Saudi military personnel and positions. However, independent verification of the group’s claims about the target was not immediately available.
The attack marks a significant escalation in the conflict between the Houthis and forces supporting Yemen’s internationally recognised government.

Aden has served as the interim seat of the government since the Houthis seized the capital, Sanaa, in 2014. The group controls much of northern Yemen, while the internationally recognised government operates from the south.
Fighting between Houthi forces and government-aligned troops has intensified in recent weeks. The renewed violence has raised concerns about further instability and worsening humanitarian conditions.
The latest attack comes amid wider regional tensions and continuing Houthi missile and drone strikes against Saudi targets. Saudi Arabia backs forces opposing the Houthis in Yemen.
Authorities have not announced any immediate changes to the government’s operations following the attack. The situation remains tense as the conflict continues.
