Hyderabad, Oct. 21: A video showing youths questioning a Muslim bouncer over his presence at a Hindu festival has gone viral on social media. The incident reportedly occurred during a Dandiya celebration at MVSR Engineering College in Nadergul, Hyderabad.
The bouncer, identified as Farid, was reportedly hired along with other security personnel for the event. Some youths allegedly confronted him, asking why he had attended a Hindu event despite an online campaign opposing Muslim bouncers at Hindu festivals.
Viral Video Shows Youths Questioning Bouncer’s Presence
In the video circulating on social media, the youths can reportedly be heard questioning Farid about his religious identity and presence at the event. The bouncer reportedly explained that he had been assigned duty there.
The incident has drawn attention to the treatment of security personnel at religious and cultural events. The circumstances surrounding the confrontation and any further action by the authorities were not mentioned in the available report.
MVSR College Dandiya Event Tragedy Under Investigation
The confrontation comes days after a separate incident at the same college’s Dandiya festival on October 17. A temporary iron truss collapsed, killing one student and injuring 22 others.
Police registered a case and launched an investigation into the accident. According to the preliminary findings cited in the report, maintenance-related negligence may have contributed to the collapse. Investigators reportedly found that two pillars were used instead of four to support the structure.
Seven people have reportedly been identified as accused in connection with the collapse. Police have arrested three, while the remaining four are absconding. Search efforts are underway to trace them.
The viral video and the earlier structural collapse have brought renewed attention to the college’s Dandiya event and its security arrangements.
