Telangana Haj Committee Chairman Mohammed Masiullah Khan has said that efforts are on to get additional Haj Quota for the State.
A representation from Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao and Deputy Chief Minister Mohammed Mahmood Ali to this effect will be given to Union Minister of State for Minorities Affairs Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi.
Mr Khan in a statement here said that besides additional quota, efforts would also be made for sending more number of Haj pilgrims under Waiting List. Mr Masiullah Khan said that he would soon meet the Chief Minister and the Deputy Chief Minister to represent for increase in the Haj Quota and obtain a letter from the Chief Minister and present it to Mr Naqvi’ in New Delhi.
He said that due to the special interest shown by the Chief Minister there is an improvement in the arrangements of Haj Camp after formation of the Telangana State. The Government has increased the budget for Haj Committee and Deputy Chief Minister personally takes care and supervises the conduct of Haj Camp.
The Haj Committee Chairman said ‘All facilities will be provided to the pilgrims both at Haj Camp and the Shamsabad International Airport’, and added he has plans to bear the travel expenses of the pilgrims coming from districts.’
