Hyderabad, August 19: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President Capt. N. Uttam Kumar Reddy has alleged that the names of thousands of Congress party workers and leaders in the State were being deleted deliberately.
Addressing the party workers in a live interaction on social media platform Facebook on Sunday, Uttam Kumar Reddy directed the party workers to check their names in the electoral rolls. He also asked them to cross check whether or not the names of their family members, relatives and neighbours exist in the voters’ list. He asked the party cadre to visit the concerned municipal office, MROs or check online from Monday onwards to identify the missing names and take required measures for their re-inclusion.
The TPCC Chief also directed the party workers to intensify enrolment for Shakti programme. He said committees have been formed in almost 90% of polling booths across Telangana State. He said each booth committee consists of 14 members and at least 25 people from each booth would be enrolled in Shakti programme. He said the pending booth committees would be constituted in the next one week.
Uttam Kumar Reddy said that the Praja Chaitanya Bus Yatra could not be continued due to monsoon and heavy rainfall in various parts of the State. However, he said that the party was planning to complete the bus yatra in the next 15 days. Later, he said the party would launch another mass contact programme by visiting door-to-door to meet people.
The TPCC Chief said that Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao might dissolve the Assembly next month and seek fresh elections along with four other States of Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Mizoram and Chattisgarh. He claimed that KCR has already spoken to Prime Minister Narender Modi twice on holding early polls for Telangana Assembly. Therefore, he said that the Congress party needs to prepare itself for early polls on war footing basis by strengthening the organisation.
Uttam Kumar Reddy alleged that KCR has cheated the people through fake and tall promises and all sections of the society were disappointed with the performance of TRS Government. He said the benefits of a new State were confined to only KCR family and poor and weaker sections remained completely neglected. Fearing that he could be questioned by the people on streets for the failure of his government to deliver on promises, KCR is preparing for early polls although his party was given a mandate for five years.
The TPCC Chief alleged that KCR tried to rule through intimidation during the last four years. He harassed everyone who opposed his wrong policies or lured them with money or posts. TRS Government even tried to curtail the freedom of media. He said KCR Government was based on false propaganda and fake perceptions. He said KCR family has no moral right to continue in public life.
Uttam Kumar Reddy reminded that on the occasion of 72nd Independence Day, the Congress party has announced that it would double the Aasra pension amount for all categories of beneficiaries and reduced the eligibility age for Old Age pension from present 65 years to 58 years. Similarly, he said that the Congress party would create lakhs of jobs in both public and private sectors and meanwhile, provide Unemployment Allowance of Rs. 3,000 per month to at least 10 lakh youth. He said that the Congress party has unveiled its plans for empowerment of women and farmers’ welfare.
The TPCC chief said that the Congress party would give due recognition to the cadre who are working hard on the ground to strengthen the party. He asked them to stay connected with people and understand their grievances. He asked them to take up agitation programmes on local issues. He also informed them that AICC President Rahul Gandhi had convened a meeting of all PCC Presidents and national leaders in New Delhi on Saturday to discuss month-long agitation programme on Rafale deal. He alleged that the BJP Government at the Centre has committed a scam of Rs. 41,000 crore in the purchase of Rafale fighter aircraft. (Maxim News)
