Kutami Defeat Not Due To Naidu’s Campaign: Uttam
Hyderabad, Dec.28 (Maxim News): TPCC president N. Uttam Kumar Reddy on Friday said the election campaigning by their alliance partner TDP national president was not the reason for the defeat of grand alliance in the recent Assembly elections. He strongly felt that the People’s Kutami would have achieved far better results had they formed it much earlier than its actual announcement.
During an informal interaction with media persons here today, Uttam said there were several reasons for the defeat of the Congress party in the Assembly elections. Noting that there was huge difference in the votes polled and the votes counted, the TPCC alleged that the Election Commission officials did not count the VVPAT slips despite there was a difference of only one percent votes between the candidates. He also claimed that the complaints lodged by them with the Election Commission did not have any impact on its officials.
Commenting on the delay in the swearing-in ceremony of the newly-elected MLAs in the State, Uttam said it was unfortunate that the Assembly was not convened and the swearing-in ceremony was not held so far even after 15 days of the assumption of charge by KCR as the CM. He said they would find out all the reasons that led to their defeat and perform well in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. He said they have already submitted a preliminary report on the party’s prospective MP candidates. He declined to comment on the third front concept mooted by CM KCR. (Maxim News)
