Devineni Arrested For Staging Dharna At Gollapudi

Amaravati, Dec.27 (Maxim News): Andhra Pradesh police arrested former minister Devineni Umamaheswara Rao for staging dharna demanding that the State government to not shift the State capital from Amaravathi. He was arrested at Gollapudi.

Speaking on the occasion, Rao alleged that CM YS Jaganmohan Reddy had decided to shift the capital to serve his own selfish goals. He also alleged that the ruling YCP leaders had bought huge chunks of lands in Vizag before making the announcement of the shifting of the capital. He alleged that the the Chief Minister would loot the entire north Andhra region after shifting the capital. Meanwhile, the residents of 29 villages abutting the present capital Amaravati continued their agitation demanding the withdrawal of the decision of the state government to create three capitals. The police have already imposed section 144 of CrPC in all the agitating villages. The police have already dropped the women and farmers from holding the agitation program. (Maxim News)
