A schedule for conducting pending SSC Public Examinations will be announced after the High Court gives permission, Education Minister P Sabitha Indra Reddy, said.
The State government has decided to file an affidavit in the High Court explaining preventive measures being taken for the conduct of pending Class X exams in view of the Covid-19 pandemic.
On Thursday, the minister held a review meeting with officials of education department on the conduct of remaining SSC Public Exams and evaluation works of intermediate public examinations.
Due to coronavirus, on the directions of the High Court, the State government had halted the SSC Public Examinations from March 23. So far, only three examinations including first language paper-I and II, and second language were conducted.
Sabitha Indra Reddy said the government has decided to increase the number of SSC exam centres from the existing 2,530 and elaborate measures will be taken to publicize new centres.
Arrangements will be made to accommodate one student per bench during the exams besides special halls organized at centres for students who are ill.
Masks, sanitizers and thermal screening will be arranged for students and invigilators at the centres, she said, adding that all centres will be thoroughly sanitized every day and plans were on to make arrangements for students’ parents at the centres.
According to the minister, the evaluation process for intermediate public examinations has commenced and coding of answering scripts will be done till May 11.
The answer scripts will be evaluated from May 12 to 30. And measures were being taken to announce results of second-year in the second week of June and the ones of first-year in the third week of June, she said.
The government has decided to increase the intermediate spot evaluation camps from existing 12 to 33 besides teachers on the evaluation duty will be provided transportation, food, and medical services. For outstation teachers, accommodation facility will be provided, she elaborated.
By duly following physical distancing, arrangements were being made to accommodate 600 to 700 evaluators per camp, she said.
The pending intermediate second-year geography and modern language examination will be held on May 18. This exam was scheduled on March 23 and it was postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic. A total of 17 centres for 861 students are being constituted, she added.
