Nagarkurnool: District Collector E Sreedhar on Sunday said a woman, resident of Nagarkurnool town, who had gone to NIMS in Hyderabad to get treated for kidney related illness, has tested positive for Covid-19. She has been shifted to Gandhi Hospital for treatment. Four primary contacts of the patient were identified and home quarantined, with their medical situation being monitored by medical and health officials.
In another case, a person from Veera Ramajipally village of Balmuru mandal, who had left the village to go and live in Hyderabad some ten years ago, and was being treated for coronavirus has died. His final rites were held at his native village on Saturday, which was attended by 43 persons, who have all been home quarantined. All their samples have been sent for testing for Covid-19, and the results are awaited.
Sreedhar has appealed to the people to be aware of the fact that coronavirus was very much there and people needed to follow physical distancing, wear masks and all the precautions which were repeatedly being advised by the Central and the State governments since March.
