Women Lodges Complaint Against Raghunandan Rao, Commits Suicide
A woman named Radha Ramani registered a complaint against Dubbaka MLA Raghunandan Rao that he raped her. A case was registered in Ramachandrapuram PS last year in this regard but she attempted suicide by swallowing sleeping pills last evening as she was upset that no progress has been made so far. Police rushed to the spot after receiving the information from locals and shifted her to Pathancheru Government Hospital. Doctors said RadhaRamani’s condition is stable at present.
According to the affidavit, Radha Ramani put allegations on Raghunandan and registered a complaint against him stating that he raped her and also several other people during his tenure as a lawyer has harassed her. RadhaRamani has stated that she will continue her fight till justice is done to her.
BJP contestant Raghunandan Rao defeated TRS contestant Solipeta Sujatha with a narrow margin. He won the by-election with a majority of 1,079 votes. The election results made both BJP and TRS parties feel the pressure as the margin was narrow and even the lead factor kept on changing with the counting results of each round.
Former Dubbaka MLA Ramalinga Reddy died in August after suffering from a massive heart attack. Thus, the TRS party gave the ticket to his wife Solipeta Sujatha who was new to politics. Even though TRS party main leaders like Harish Rao and KTR did much planning to retain their constituency, Raghunandan Rao has won and made his party bag another seat in the Telangana assembly.
