Govt To Distribute Prawns To Fishermen From Nov. 24: Talasani

Hyderabad, Nov.17 (Maxim News): There is a good news for the fishermen of the state. The state government has decided to distribute prawns free of cost to all the fishermen of the state free of cost. State fisheries and Animal Husbandry Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav said that they would launch the prawns distribution program from November 24 of this month.

He said that the state government was taking several steps for the development of the fishermen in the state. He said that they would release 5 crore prawns in 47 reservoirs and 45 tanks of the state. Yadav said that they were spending ₹10.4 crore for the distribution of the prawns. He called upon the state cabinet ministers, public representatives like MPs and MLAs to take part in the prawns distribution program. Yadav said that they had been implementing the program since the financial year 2017-18 and distributing the prawns free of cost to the fishermen of state with an objective to empower them.

He said that they had distributed 7.69 crore prawns during the last there years by spending ₹14 crore and added that they had got the production of the prawns worth ₹51.50 crore. He said that the initiative had doubled the income of 30,000 fishermen families of the state. (Maxim News)
