Shabbir Ali Challenges Amit Shah On Infiltrators Claim

Hyderabad, Nov. 3: Senior Congress leader Mohammed Ali Shabbir has challenged Union Home Minister Amit Shah to substantiate his claim about three crore alleged infiltrators.

Shabbir Ali, Advisor to the Telangana Government, demanded documentary evidence supporting the claim. He also questioned the Centre’s accountability for border security after the BJP controlled the Union Home Ministry for over 12 years.

Reacting to Shah’s remarks on Tuesday, November 3, Shabbir Ali sought details about how the alleged infiltrators were identified. He also asked the Centre to disclose the evidence and action taken against them.

“If Amit Shah claims that three crore infiltrators were found on India’s electoral rolls, let him produce the evidence. Who are these people? How did they enter India, obtain identity documents and register themselves as voters? These questions cannot be answered through political speeches,” he said.

Shabbir Ali pointed out that the BJP has controlled the Union Home Ministry since May 2014. Rajnath Singh held the portfolio from 2014 to 2019, followed by Amit Shah from May 2019.

He said the BJP could not avoid responsibility for border security, intelligence and internal security after more than 12 years in power.

“If these infiltrators entered during the BJP’s tenure, it represents a massive failure of the Centre’s security arrangements. If they entered before 2014, why were they not identified despite 12 years of BJP rule?” he asked.

Shabbir Ali Questions Election Commission Over SIR Deletions

Shabbir Ali also questioned the difference between Amit Shah’s claims and the Election Commission’s earlier statements.

He recalled that Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar had not provided a specific figure for alleged infiltrators identified during Bihar’s Special Intensive Revision (SIR).

He also referred to a subsequent investigation that reportedly found no provision in the Election Commission’s software. According to the investigation, the software could not classify deleted voters as foreign nationals.

“When the Election Commission itself has not disclosed how many infiltrators were identified, on what basis is Amit Shah claiming that three crore infiltrators were removed?” he asked.

Shabbir Ali demanded a transparent Central policy on Rohingya refugees and alleged Bangladeshi infiltration. He said anyone obtaining voting rights through forged documents should face legal action.

However, he stressed that allegations must be supported by evidence.

The Congress leader also raised concerns over nearly 10 crore other names reportedly deleted or excluded during the SIR exercise.

BJP leaders attributed these removals to deceased voters, shifted residents and duplicate registrations. However, Shabbir Ali questioned whether officials had completed adequate verification.

“Even if we accept Amit Shah’s claim about three crore infiltrators for argument’s sake, what happened to the remaining 10 crore voters?” he asked.

He sought details about how many voters were contacted personally. He also questioned how many were wrongly declared dead or shifted.

Referring to Rahul Gandhi’s allegations, Shabbir Ali said living voters had reportedly been declared dead and removed from electoral rolls.

He demanded an independent examination of disputed deletions. He also urged the Election Commission to publish booth-wise and constituency-wise data.

The information should cover deletion reasons, verification procedures, objections, corrections and pending appeals. He said privacy must be protected while allowing citizens to challenge wrongful exclusions.

“Removing duplicate entries and deleting genuine voters are entirely different matters. Electoral rolls must be accurate, but accuracy cannot become an excuse for disenfranchisement. Every eligible citizen has a democratic right to vote,” he said.

Shabbir Ali further questioned why Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar had not addressed opposition allegations of “vote chori” with detailed records.

He demanded a transparent, time-bound mechanism to restore wrongly deleted names.

“Instead of conducting padayatras and delivering political speeches, Amit Shah should discharge his responsibility as Home Minister. He should stop acting like a spokesperson for the CEC,” he said.

Referring to the INDIA bloc rally at Ramlila Maidan in New Delhi, Shabbir Ali claimed the opposition’s campaign had unsettled the BJP leadership.

He said subsequent mobilisation by Amit Shah, BJP national president Nitin Nabin and other leaders reflected the impact of Rahul Gandhi’s campaign.

Shabbir Ali reiterated the Congress demand for Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar’s resignation. He called for complete transparency and an independent examination of voter deletions.

He urged Amit Shah to provide evidence for the alleged three crore infiltrators. He also demanded an explanation for the remaining 10 crore deleted or excluded names.

“If Amit Shah cannot produce credible evidence, he should stop making unsubstantiated claims and let the Election Commission answer the nation with facts,” Shabbir Ali said.
