Sputnik Vaccine Reaches Hyderabad
Hyderabad, May 16 (Maxim News): The second batch of Sputnik vaccine reached the city today . A total of 60,000 doses have been brought to Shamshabad airport by a special Russian Aircraft. Russia has already supplied 1.5 lakh doses of the vaccine to the city in the first batch. The first batch of the vaccine reached the city on May 1.
Speaking on the occasion, Russian Ambassador Nicholai Kudashev said that bilateral ties between the two countries were very strong and were being taken forward in a strong manner. He said that the vaccine was brought into use in the second half of the 2020 in Russia. He said that the vaccine was working effectively in the prevention of the virus and added that the vaccine was also working on the new strains of the virus. He said that they were planning to increase the production of the vaccine to 850 million dose per annum in India.
He also said that they were planning to introduce single dose of the Sputnik light vaccine . City based Dr. Reddy’s lab entered into an agreement with Russian direct investment fund for the manufacturing and distribution of the vaccine in India . Himachal Pradesh based central drugs laboratory gave permission to the Dr. Reddy’s lab to distribute the vaccine on May 13,2021. Following this, the company had taken up the distribution of the vaccine the head of custom pharma services of the company Deepak Sapra took the first dose of the vaccine in the country. (Maxim News)
