Hyderabad, July 31 (Maxim News): Several senior leaders of Congress party participated in the Eid-Milaap function organised by Hyderabad Congress Minorities Dept chairman Sameer Waliullah at Red Rose Function Hall, Nampally on Saturday evening.
The event was presided by former minister and ex-Leader of Opposition in Legislative Council Mohammed Ali Shabbir while AICC Secretary N.S. Bose Raju was the chief guest.
The newly appointed Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President & MP A. Revanth Reddy and his team of Working Presidents and Senior Vice Presidents were felicitated on the occasion. Later, the guests were served tasty delicacies of Hyderabad including popular Biryani. TPCC Spokesperson Syed Nizamuddin, along with Sameer Waliullah, received the guests and accorded them a warm welcome.
Sameer Waliullah thanked the Congress leaders for making the event a grand success. He said Dawat-e-Iftar and Eid Milaap could not be conducted for the last two years due to Covid-19. Therefore, today’s Eid Milaap was conducted to revive the old practice of having get-together on special occasions like Eid.
Addressing the gathering, TPCC President Revanth Reddy stressed the need to strengthen the Congress party so as to protect secularism in the country. Stating that both BJP and TRS were equally communal and anti-minorities, Revanth Reddy said that only the Congress party has the ability to fight and defeat the communal forces.
Revanth Reddy said that the Muslims and other minority communities in Telangana have realised that they were being cheated by Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao for the last seven years. (Maxim News)
