World Rhinoceros Day Celebrated at Nehru Zoological Park Today

World Rhinoceros Day is celebrated today at Nehru Zoological Park, Hyderabad in collaboration with Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. Hyderabad.

In this connection Sri R.S.S. Rao, Executive Director for Telangana & Andhra Pradesh, Sri S.K. Upadhayay, CGM, HR, Sri B. Anand Reddy, GM, Sri V. Ravi Shanker, Chief Manager, Sri Ramesh Babu, DGM, Indian Oil Corporation Ltd, Hyderabad visited Nehru Zoological Park, Hyderabad and offered to adopt Rhinoceros enclosure in Zoo. Nehru Zoological Park, Hyderabad is housing 4 Nos. of One Horned Rhinoceros (1 Female & 3 Males) namely (Suraj, Saraswati, Sai Vijay & Nanda (4 months old Calf). Sri R.S.S. Rao, ED, IOC felicitated Ms. V.V.L. Subhadra Devi, Curator, Smt. A. Nagamani, Dy. Curator, Smt P. Sunitha, Asst. Curator – I, Smt. T. Swaroopa Rani, Asst. Curator – II, Sri A. Satish Babu, Asst. Curator – III, Sri G. Shambulingam, Asst. Director (Vet), Sri D. Nagaraju, Dy. Range Officer, Sri B. Laxminarayana, Biologist, Sri H.M. Hanifulla, PRO, Sri Sanjeeva Rao, Animal Keeper, Yeshwanth Kumar, Animal Keeper, Rajesh, Animal Keeper, Ayoub Kouser, Animal Keeper & Prem Kumar, Animal Keeper who are working for Conservation of One Horned Rhinoceros in the Zoo, directly and indirectly.

Speaking on the occasion Ms. V.V.L. Subhadra Devi, Curator, Nehru Zoological Park, Hyderabad said that 22nd September is celebrated as World Rhino Day. This day has been made more eventful with the IOC officials coming forward to adopt the Rhino Enclosure in Zoo. She thanked the IOC Officials for showing interest in Conservation of Wildlife and wished that this should be a long association with their contribution for the development of Zoo further.
