The TPCC chief said that while the TRS and BJP leaders were trying to lure people in Huzurabad by distributing liquor, cash and sarees, the Congress party did its ground-work in the last five months and strengthened its connection with the people.

Congress party does not have any illicit money to distribute among voters. Our leaders never grabbed lands which we could sell for elections.

We only believed in serving the people and this time too, we picked a candidate Venkat who is directly connected with the people,” he said.

Revanth said that the Congress party was always proved right in selection of candidates. Citing an example, he said Ponnam Prabhakar was given an opportunity to contest Lok Sabha elections in 2009. Despite being a young student leader, Ponnam Prabhakar defeated political giants to win the elections.
