Maulana Azad, ambassador of National Integrity – MANUU organizes online Symposium

Hyderabad, Nov. 09 (Maxim News): Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) today organized online symposium “Maulana Abul Kalam Azad: An ambassador of National Unity and Integrity”as part of Azad Day Celebrations. Prof. S.M. Rahmatullah, Pro-Vice Chancellor, preside over.

The guest speaker, Prof. Amina Kishore, Former Dean & Professor, Azad Chair, MANUU in her address described Maulana Abul Kalam Azad an advocate of unity. He is one of the very few leaders of his time who believed intrinsically in absolute unity of people living in this Nation whether it be in personal sphere, social conduct or in political ideology. He was against all those who wanted partition of the country in the name of religion and tried hard till end to stop partition, she added.

Prof. S.M. Rahmatullah in his presidential address said Islam teaches to it’s followers to give shelter to needy and not to shed blood unjustly.These were the qualities that gave Maulana Azad the position he deserved. Maulana Azad made every effort to promote unity and brotherhood. By following his ideologies we can also ensure the development of the country.

Prof. Mohammad Mohibul Haque, Dept. of Pol. Sc., Aligarh Muslim University said that Maulana Azad and Sir Syed propagated nationalism while keeping the importance of religion along. Maulana Azad had said that religion cannot be a criteria to prove nationality. Prof. Haque termed Maulana Azad’s Hindu-Muslim unity as a metaphor of national security.

Prof. Mohd. Naseemuddin Farees, Dean, School of Languages said Maulana Azad infused the spirit of freedom in people through his writings. Maulana Azad did not want unity just for the sake of freedom but he advocated unity for the promotion of humanity.

Earlier, Prof. Siddiqui Mohd Mahmood, Registrar I/c in his welcome address described the diversity of different religions, castes and regions in India as it’s beauty. To prosper and to develop, we have to follow ideologies of Maulana Azad, he advised.

Dr. Ameena Tahseen, Coordinator Symposium, convened the programme and Dr. Ahmad khan, convenor, core-committee proposed vote of thanks.
