India records 17,092 new Corona Cases, 29 Fatalities

New Delhi, July 2: The number of coronavirus infections in India climbed by 17,092, bringing the total to 4,34,86,326, while the number of active cases rose to 1,09,568, the Union Health Ministry reported on Saturday.

29 more fatalities have brought the total number of deaths to 5,25,168, according to data supplied by the ministry at 8 am. Infections as a whole account for 0.25 percent of the current cases. According to the health ministry, the national COVID-19 recovery rate was 98.54 percent. In the last 24 hours, there has been an increase of 2,379 instances in the number of active COVID-19 cases. The daily positivity rate was recorded at 4.14 per cent, while the weekly positivity rate was recorded at 3.56 per cent, according to the ministry.

4,28,51,590 persons have recovered from the illness, a significant increase. The death rate in cases was 1.21%. The ministry reports that 197.84 crore doses of the Covid vaccine have now been given throughout the nation as part of the widespread immunisation campaign. On August 7, 2020, India’s COVID-19 total had reached 20 lakh, on August 23, it reached 30 lakh, on September 5 it reached 40 lakh, and on September 16 it reached 50 lakh.

On September 28, it surpassed 60 lakh, on October 11, it surpassed 70 lakh, on October 29, it surpassed 80 lakh, on November 20, and on December 19, 2020, it surpassed one crore. On May 4, 2021, three months later, on June 23, and on January 25, this year, the nation passed the sombre milestone of two crore cases. According to the report, out of the 29 new deaths, 15 were from Kerala, four were from Maharashtra, three were from Delhi, two were from Punjab, and one each was from Chhattisgarh, Bihar, Gujarat, Karnataka, and Rajasthan.
