ACB Books Mohan Naik | Hyderabad, June 10: The Telangana Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) has registered a disproportionate assets case against Roads and Buildings Engineer in Chief Mohan Naik Jarupula. Officials found assets worth nearly ₹17.94 crore during searches conducted at multiple locations on June 9.
ACB teams carried out searches at Mohan Naik’s residence, office and 15 other locations linked to his relatives, associates and beneficiaries. The agency alleged that he acquired assets beyond his known sources of income during his service.
The searches revealed five agricultural land parcels measuring 19.38 acres in Mullangi village of Nizamabad district. Officials also found seven flats located in Kompally and Gachibowli, a triplex villa in Miyapur and a newly built house in Kukatpally.
ACB officers identified an advance payment of ₹1 crore for the purchase of a villa in Nizamabad. Officials said the market value of these properties is likely to be much higher than the official estimates.
Cash, Gold and Properties Found During Searches
During the raids, officials recovered cash worth ₹5.5 lakh and bank balances of about ₹1.44 crore. They also found gold ornaments weighing around 2.5 kilograms and silver ornaments weighing about six kilograms.
The agency seized household articles, electronic gadgets, nine mobile phones, four laptops and two vehicles. Officials estimated the value of household items and gadgets at more than ₹1.26 crore.
According to the ACB, the total value of assets identified so far stands at ₹17,94,62,617. Officials are continuing verification of additional properties and financial holdings.
The case has been registered under the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988, as amended in 2018. ACB officials said they will produce Mohan Naik before the Special Court for SPE and ACB Cases in Hyderabad.
The investigation is continuing. Officials are examining whether the public servant acquired additional assets through illegal means during his tenure.
