Adulterated Ginger Paste Seized In Hyderabad Raid

Hyderabad: Police exposed an adulterated ginger paste racket in Hyderabad and seized a large quantity of products during a raid. Authorities said adulteration is increasing day by day in the city, while some groups are risking public health to earn money.

In this case, police uncovered a network that was allegedly manufacturing adulterated ginger paste. Officials arrested a gang involved in producing the paste. During the operation, authorities seized about 1900 kg of adulterated ginger paste.

According to details, the raid took place on Friday (March 6). The Secunderabad Zone Commissioner’s Task Force and Lalaguda Police carried out the operation. They acted on reliable information that adulterated ginger garlic paste was being manufactured in the area. As a result, officers raided the Jhansi Ginger Garlic Paste godown in Lalapet.

During the raid, police arrested four accused. Officers also recovered several items used in the manufacturing process. A total of 1,915 kg of ginger and garlic paste was seized from the location. In addition, police found 30 kg of acetic acid and 10 kg of xanthan gum. Authorities also seized 80 kg of raw ginger and garlic from the godown.

Investigators further recovered branded labels, packing machines and a grinder used in the operation. Meanwhile, officials noticed that more than 800 kg of the paste was stored in small drums. These drums had no packaging or labelling.

Police said the accused were adding harmful acetic acid to the ginger garlic paste. Authorities explained that the mixture was stored in plastic tubs for long periods. Later, the paste was packed in quantities ranging from 175 grams to 5 kg. The accused then used fake brand labels before selling the product.

Officials stated that the adulterated ginger paste was being supplied to general and grocery stores across the city. Therefore, the racket posed a serious risk to consumers who might unknowingly buy the product.

Following the raid, police arrested four people involved in the operation. Authorities also registered cases against them under various sections. The investigation is continuing as officials examine the scale of the adulteration activity in Hyderabad.
