Hyderabad, Dec.23 (Maxim News): Doctors of the All-India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Delhi, today performed re-post mortem on the bodies of the four accused in the Disha case. The process has taken about four hours at Gandhi Hospital in Secunderabad and only Delhi doctors were involved in it.

The post-mortem was conducted in secrecy in a separate cabin in the Hospital. Dr P Shravan Kumar, Superintendent of the Hospital, said that the entire process of autopsy was video-graphed. He said that they were not allowed inside and the footage of the autopsy was taken away by them.

Dr Kumar said that before starting the autopsy, the Delhi Doctors interacted with the relatives of the deceased persons and recorded their statements. The Delhi team wanted to have a talk with the kith and kin of the deceased and accordingly, they have arranged it.

The AIIMS doctors informed that the report and results of the second post mortem will be submitted to the high court in two days. They left for Delhi later. As directed by the high court, the police handed over the bodies to the respective family members, after the post mortem. The officials shifted the bodies to their villages in two ambulances, for last rights.

It may be recalled that the High Court had ordered the re-postmortem of the four persons who were allegedly killed in an encounter with the police on December 6. The first postmortem was conducted at Mahaboobnagar Hospital on the same day and the bodies were preserved at Gandhi Hospital in the city, as per the directions of the High Court. (Maxim News)
