Delhi/Hyderabad, Feb 28 (Maxim News): The CBI has knocked on the door of the Delhi High Court over the verdict of a special court acquitting former CM Arvind Kejriwal, former Deputy CM Manish Sisodia, Kalvakuntla Kavitha and 23 others in the liquor scam case. It is learnt that the CBI has challenged the verdict of Special Judge Jitendra Singh of the Rouse Avenue Court, which found that there was no criminal intent or conspiracy in the formulation of the Delhi liquor policy.
The evidence presented by the CBI does not stand up to judicial scrutiny. The CBI feels that the court did not take into account the evidence that it had stated in the evidence that money laundering took place in this matter, that there was evidence of transfer of funds through hawala, and that the actors in the scam met several times. It is learnt that the CBI has stated in the petition filed before the High Court that further investigation is required in this case. (Maxim News)
