AIMIM Likely To Enter 4th Generation In Coming Assembly Polls 

Hyderabad, June 7 (Maxim News)  All India Majlis Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) is likely to enter the fourth generation of the party.  Another generation entry is likely in the party.

The party sources are discussing that Akbaruddin Owaisi’s son Nooruddin Owaisi will contest as an MLA in the upcoming Assembly elections.  It may be recalled that Owaisi’s brothers thought to field him in the Assembly elections held in 2018, but it was reportedly postponed due to his age.  The chances of bringing Nooruddiin into the electoral ring are clear in this election. 

The AIMIM headquartered in Darussalam, came into existence in 1927.  The party emerged in the name of the interests of the old settlers when Hyderabad was a state during British rule.  Nawab Mahmood Nawaz Khan, who was the adviser to the then Nizam Nawab Mir Osman Ali Khan, founded the party.  In 1957, Abdul Waheed Owaisi  (grandfather of Asaduddin Owaisi)  took over the reins of the party, he was succeeded in 1975 by his son Sultan Salahuddin Owaisi (father of Asaduddin Owaisi) who took over the party with the title of Salar-e-Millat  (leader of the sect). 

He won the first Hyderabad Municipal Corporation election in 1960 as a party candidate from the Mallepally ward.  In 1962, he contested as an independent candidate from the then Pattargatti and won a great victory.  Later he contested from Charminar in 1967, from Yakutpura in 1972, and again from Charminar in 1978 and won as MLA.  In 1984, the AIMIM party, which had already made a name for itself, contested for the Lok Sabha in 1984.  Party President Salahuddin Owaisi entered the Lok Sabha for the first time after winning the Hyderabad Parliament.  he remained a member of the Lok Sabha till 2004.

After that, his son Asaduddin Owaisi represented Hyderabad Parliament.  At present the party has seven MLAs, After that, his son Asaduddin Owaisi represented Hyderabad Parliament.  At present the party has seven MLAs,  

The source added that the leadership of the party is thinking of fielding Nooruddin from one of the 7 sitting MLA seats of the Majlis Party.  However, it has to be seen which of the MLAs will give up the position and give an opportunity. One of the sitting MLAs will be given a chance in some other constituency as the party is planning to contest in more seats to expand its party base in Telangana.  (Maxim News)
