All Arrangement Made For Panchayat Elections: 73 Villages Merged In Municipalities Including All Villages In Medchal

Hyderabad, May 26 (Maxim News): Panchayat Raj department has prepared everything for the elections to the Panchayats. It has already completed all the necessary arrangements for the conduct of the elections, including the voter list, division of wards, identification of polling stations, ballot boxes, ballot papers, and election-related equipment have been made available.

Training has been provided to ROs and POs. the election Commission has met with leaders of various political parties. training has also been completed for election officers. It is learnt that another meeting will be held with the officers soon.

There are 12,848 villages in Telangana, currently there are 1,12,680 wards and 5,307 MPTC seats. As part of the expansion of municipalities, 73 villages have been merged. With this, elections will be held for only 12,775 panchayats.

On the other hand, there are 570 MPP seats but MPPs will be elected for only 567 mandals. The number of MPP seats will be the same as the number of ZPTC seats. While there are currently 32 ZP chairman seats in the state, one ZP chairman seat will be reduced as all the villages in Medchal district will be merged into the city. Only 31 ZP Chairman will be elected.

As many as 73 villages in the state were merged into municipalities, these villages were removed from the local body election list. Mulugu, Kalluru, Bichkunda, Aliabad, Ramagundam, Pedda amberpet, Chevella, Moinabad, Kothagudem, Aminpur, Maddur and many other villages were merged into municipalities and came under the administration of the municipalities.

With the merger of these villages, some villages in the respective mandals have been somewhat disturbed. This is going to become an obstacle for the MPTC elections. The authorities are deliberating on how to move forward with the elections in these villages. (Maxim News)
