All India Seminar On Technological Options For Resource Recovery In Chemical Process Industry Held

Hyderabad, Oct.3 (Maxim News): IEI, Telangana State Centre, in association with CSIR-Indian Institute of Chemical Technology (IICT) jointly organized All India Seminar on “Recent Developments in Technological Options for Resource Recovery in Chemical Process Industry” on Thursday. B Kalyan Chakravarthy, IAS, Director-General, Environment Protection Training & Research Institute, here M Dana Kishore, IAS, Managing Director, Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply & Sewerage Board, inaugurated the Seminar as chief guests.

Speaking on the occasion, Dana Kishore spoke about “Circular Economy” and the need of cost-effective technology to recover resources from waste. He also specifically highlighted the importance of home grown technologies to reduce municipal landfills.

Kalyan Chakravarthy spoke about the necessity of young scientists and engineers rather than administrators to resolve the problems associated with waste and to turn it into wealth. Dr N V Satyanarayana, Director-In-charge, CSIR-IICT, who was guest-of-honour said, “We are not only in the urge to develop sophisticated and low cost waste treatment techniques were important that those techniques should be remunerative. This will happen by minimizing the undesired residues via recovery of desired resources from effluents, he said.

Earlier, Dr G Rameshwar Rao, FIE, Chairman, IEI, TSC, presided. Dr A Gangagni Rao, FIE and convener, organizing committee, briefed about the Seminar. Er T Anjaiah, FIE, Honorary Secretary, IEI, also soke. (Maxim News)
