All New Courses of Degree Are For Four Years

Degree | Hyderabad, April 21 (Maxim News): The Telangana State Council of Higher Education plans to conduct the newly introduced degree course in the state for a period of four years. It has recently been decided to introduce the B.Sc. Honors course in Computer Science with a duration of three years from the next academic year 2023-24, but recently they are thinking of increasing it to four years. In this course, the syllabus is designed to teach computer science as a whole rather than as a subject. Artificial intelligence, cyber security, blockchain technology, etc are taught in it.

UGC Chairman Manidala Jagadish Kumar recently spoke to Education Secretary Vakati Karuna, Higher Education Council Chairman Acharya R. Limbadri, and others in an online meeting.

On this occasion, there was a discussion on four-year degree courses. The state officials expressed the opinion that it is difficult for students to stay in the courses for four years and there is also a shortage of qualified teachers. This is why the newly introduced B.Sc. Honors in Computer Science has been decided as a three-year course. It is believed that it can be increased to four years. He told the UGC Chairman that the courses to be introduced henceforth will be brought for a period of four years. If the students think that they will leave after three years, as per the National New Education Policy there is an exit option for them to get a regular degree.

The Computer Science Honors course is introduced in more than 10 Government Degree Colleges in the state. Private colleges are also allowed. The State Board of High Education will soon issue a notification in this regard. On this. Chairman Limbadri said that as 2.50 lakh candidates are enrolled in the degree every year, there is a need to increase the job and employment opportunities for them. He said that the four-year course can lead directly to a Ph.D. There is no such problem as 16 years of study is required to study abroad. (Maxim News)
