Amit Shah To Inaugurate Turmeric Board Office in Nizamabad on June 29
Nizamabad/Hyderabad, June 27, 2025 (Maxim News): Union Home Minister Amit Shah will inaugurate the Turmeric Board Office in Nizamabad on June 29, marking a major milestone in the region’s long-standing demand for support to turmeric farmers. Alongside the inauguration, Shah will also participate in a Rythu Sammelan (Farmers’ Meet) to address local farmers and stakeholders.
The announcement was made by Union Coal and Mines Minister G. Kishan Reddy during a media briefing in Nizamabad, where he was joined by Nizamabad MP Dharmapuri Arvind.
Kishan Reddy stated that the establishment of the Turmeric Board fulfills decades of struggle and the 40-year-old dream of farmers in the region. He credited MP Arvind’s persistent efforts, as well as the support of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP-led government, for making the board a reality.
A Boost to Turmeric Farmers
The newly established board is expected to enhance the marketing, export, and value addition of turmeric — a key crop in Nizamabad and surrounding regions. It will also provide support for research, price stabilization, and farmer welfare initiatives, directly benefiting thousands of turmeric farmers.
Other Events on the Agenda
Amit Shah will also unveil a statue of senior leader and former Minister Dharmapuri Srinivas, a significant political figure in Telangana’s history and the father of MP Arvind.
Meanwhile, Kishan Reddy took the opportunity to question the Congress government’s handling of the phone tapping case, urging Chief Minister Revanth Reddy to transfer the probe to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for transparency. He pointed out that Revanth himself had earlier demanded a CBI inquiry when in opposition.
MLA Dhanpal Suryanarayana and several local BJP leaders were present during the briefing, underscoring the importance of the event for both the party and the farming community in Telangana.
