Andaman Nicobar Port Blair Municipal team visiting GHMC
*Hyderabad, February 17:* GHMC Commissioner Ronald Rose stated that all necessary steps are being taken to implement the planned development of Hyderabad city. Andaman Nicobar Port Blair Municipal Team arrived in Hyderabad on Saturday to study Sanitation Best Practices. On this occasion, they met GHMC Commissioner Ronald Rose as a courtesy. He inquired about the programs being implemented in GHMC and learned the details. The Commissioner had a meeting with the study team.

On this occasion, the Commissioner said that the development of the city of Hyderabad has been focused on sanitation management, increasing greenery, town planning, and making it a clean and green city. On this occasion, the relevant officials explained the various programs undertaken for the development of the city through a powerpoint presentation to the Port Blair Municipal Council team.
As part of solid waste management project management, door-to-door garbage collection, segregation, C&D waste processing plants, waste recycling material, making compost from wet garbage, etc. were explained to them through power point presentation.

He said that every day garbage collection is done from house to house in the city by Swachh Autos, and every day 7500 metric tons of garbage are collected and moved to the Jawahar Nagar dump yard, and vermicompost is made with that. They said that they are preparing another dump yard in Pyara Nagar. He said that two construction waste (C&D) plants have been set up and two more plants are being set up.
It was explained to them that the C&D waste generated throughout the city has been arranged on all four sides of the city to be recycled from time to time. The implementation of flyovers, roads, other infrastructure, and social security schemes with the cooperation of the state government for the development of the city has been explained above. Annapurna scheme, modern Vaikunthadams, multipurpose function hall, and other infrastructure facilities were explained.

He told me about the salaries and facilities provided to GHMC sanitary jawans. He said that through the Annapurna Bhojan Scheme in GHMC, meals are being provided for five rupees and 30,000 people are being served Annapurna meals every day through 139 centers in the city. Regarding the health of the poor, 284 Basti dispensaries are working under the GHMC, how the sources of income are generated and the details of income and expenditure were explained to them. Town planning, new TDR policy, road winding program, measures taken for greening, urban bio-diversity, development of parks, tree parks, vertical gardens, construction of Vaikunthadhams, the establishment of colony parks, a plantation in Telangana Haritaharam program and increasing greenness, officials said. Later, the Port Blair Council team went to inspect the dumping yard in Jawahar Nagar. The team of Port Blair Council said that the sanitation management in Hyderabad city and the various development programs undertaken in the green city are good.
