AP Govt Appoints Vijayanand As New Chief Secretary

The Andhra Pradesh government has appointed Vijayanand as the state’s new Chief Secretary (CS). An official order confirming the appointment was issued.

The current Chief Secretary, Neerabh Kumar Prasad, is set to retire as his tenure ends on December 31. Vijayanand will formally assume his new role on Wednesday afternoon.

Vijayanand, a 1992-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer, currently serves as the Special Chief Secretary in the Energy Department. He is scheduled to retire from service in November next year.

Earlier in his career, Vijayanand held key roles such as the Chairman of Andhra Pradesh GENCO in 2022 and the Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of Andhra Pradesh TRANSCO from April 2023.
