Vijayawada, Jan.23 (Maxim News): The Andhra Pradesh High Court on Thursday took up the hearing on the issue of the establishment of three state capitals and abolition of CRDA Act.
The chief justice JK Maheswari asked the advocate general Sriram Subramanyam about the status of the two related Bills. The AG told the Chief Justice that the two bills had been approved by the state assembly and added that they were sent for the approval of the legislative council. On hearing this, the chief justice told the petitioners that he was of the opinion that no inquiry should be done by the High Court on the issue. The counsel for the petitioners Ashok Bhan told the High Court that such a decision would prompt the state government to shift all its offices to the proposed new capitals of the state. Responding to this, the Chief justice asked the state government not to shift the government offices till the disposal of the petitions. Later the HC adjourned the hearing of the case till February 26,2020.(Maxim News)
